Down Under, Cairns, Feb 26th 2007

I am just a bit confused after a two day trip to arrive to Cairns, AU (4 flights total).
Arrived yesterday, very tired and jetlegged. The bed and breakfast i am staying at is just gorgeous; this little colourful house, sorrounded by green palm trees.
Cairns is a small, laid back town ...everybody is slow here; no rush and no worries!
I was travelling by myself on the way here and met Michele and Rod in Cairns; It is quite amazing to meet them here in AU and not in Calif.
Last night we had a crocodile and a kangaroo barbeque...interesting!! the kangaroo really sucked!!! it was sooooo hard...
The croc was a bit better but i am not looking forward to eating it again soon:).
Today it was a gorgeous day and we went out to the great barrier reef; awesome!
We also went to a bird sanctuary in the middle of the ocean...i felt like i was in that Hitchcock movie, "birds"...i'll show u pics once i am back.
Tomorrow we are heading to Cape Tribulation! Apparently one of the last places on earth where the rainforest gets right on the beach...wow!
Talk to u laterrrrr...

Steve Irwin death, sept 4th 2006, Batt Reef, Queensland

I am about to travel all the way to Australia and i had to give a bit of attantion to this man...
I am really sorry he died, i respected his work, his enthusiasm and how he always fight to protect thretened species.

I read a lot about his death.
He was shooting a ducmentary in Batt Reef, a stretch of the Great Barrier a few miles away fromPort Douglas, about sea life with his crew when apparently he boxed in a giant stingray which, startled, whipped its barbed tail upwards into his chest.

He died in a few minutes, maybe less.

Outside the hospital in Port Douglas, his longtime friend and producer John Stainton said, "He died doing what he loves best, and left this world in a happy and peaceful state of mind. He would have said, Crocs rule."

I hope he is wrestling crocs up there in heaven!!
