Nosy Be, Madagascar. The adventure!
I was supposed to fly to Brasil with a special fare (i have discounts through the company i work for) but...guess what? the flight was all booked up so i had to change destination: i flew to Nosy Be, Madagascar, the island of parfumes.
The island is absolutely gorgeous, very green and wild.
I was staying in Ambondrona Beach, at Tsara Loky, beautiful complex of bungalows just right on the beach. The owners, Françoise and Regis also own a restaurant next door and i tell u the food is just AMAZING!!!(Tsara Loky means "good cooking" in local language and that's the truth!!).
I got the chance to visit most of the island and some smaller islands close to it and see some unusual animals: chameleons, lemures, snakes, turtles (marine and earth ones).
What i raccomand:
- Ambondrona Beach: very wild and quiet.
- Ambatoloaka: not very nice! Very turistic and full of old french and italian fellows on sexual turism.
- Darasalama: Small and good for some shopping.
- Hell Ville: Very authentic, that's the biggest city of the island. The market is very interesting and folkloristic. Very good for grocery shopping.
- Natural Reserve of Lokobe (gorgeous).
That was the nicest tour i took. I felt like in "Castaway"...and let me tell u, during this tour be ready for paddling!
- Nosy Komba and Nosy Tanikely: two beautiful small islands south of Nosy Be.
Nosy Komba is bigger, it has inhabitants as well. The village is small sorrounded by palm trees, banano and ying yang trees..
Nosy Tanikely is a marine park: it is like being in a swimming pool.
- Andilana Beach: beautiful beach and clear light blue water.
Important contacts.
Accomodation:
- Tsara loky: nice and clean bungalows just right on Ambondrona Beach.
